I am a forest community ecologist interested in using remote sensing technologies to better understand ecological dynamics from individual trees to whole communities. In particular, I leverage the study of light-plant interactions, known as spectroscopy, to non-destructively quantify multiple axes of plant function, including leaf traits and gene expression. By integrating remote sensing with forest ecology, I aim to address fundamental questions about community structure and function across unprecedented spatial and temporal scales in a rapidly changing world.
